Applications in Teaching
Now is a good time to begin applying some of the knowledge you have gained through the previous sections.
The beginning of this section will serve as an opportunity to take a look at how a 3D motion capture session is conducted while seeing some examples of how a 3D system can help enhance understanding and communication between the golfer and his/her instructor. We will watch Dr. Rob Neal conduct a lesson with the Golf BioDynamics electromagnetic system, including the use of biofeedback training.
You will then be provided with access to Visual 3D software, instructions on how to use it, and additional golf swing examples to analyze. The best way to become even more comfortable with evaluating swings in 3D is to continue to look at more swings of various golfers. This part of the material will then culminate in a Swing Analysis Assignment where you are asked to apply what your knowledge.
Finally, we will leave you with the opportunity to download a free trial of the Golf BioDynamics analysis software, and a few sample data sets to play with.
Upon completion of this section, you will be able to:
- Evaluate additional swings using Visual 3D software.
- Discuss how 3D analysis information influences golfer-instructor communication
- Discuss how biofeedback can be used during a live teaching session
- Evaluate additional swings using the Golf BioDynamics system.
