Visual Assessment of 3D Data
Now that you understand the basics of 3D motion capture technologies, the second half of this program will focus on how to assess the data capture, how to use a 3D system to interact with the golfer, as well as, how to apply it as part of an improvement program for your students.
This section will cover ways in which we can qualitatively assess the golf swing using 3D systems. We'll focus on the areas you can visually observe, while the next section will focus on the data that can be measured.
Upon completion of this section, you will be able to:
- Describe the options available for viewing 3D models
- Explain how visual assessment and instruction can be performed using 3D systems
- Explain how rotation is best viewed during visual assessment of the golf swing, whether in 2D or 3D
- Define global vs relative motions
- Describe the value of adding body lines to 3D models
- Explain the difference between projection angle measurements and anatomical angle measurements
